"Politics has such an impact on our everyday lives because it defines our lives."
How do you lead a political life?
Usually I like to watch the news or check news websites everyday just so I know what’s going on in the world. I also try and involve myself in politic groups and I am currently taking a political science class.
When did you start caring about politics?
I’ve always been interested in politics but I think it really started my senior year in high school when I took a U.S. Government and Politics class. It got me thinking about politics and how important they are in our everyday lives.
What steps did you take to get to where you are?
I’ve been taking as many political classes as possible and get involved in clubs as well as making sure I am informed about current politics.
How do you think politics affects your daily life?
Politics has such an impact on our everyday lives because it defines our lives. The issues that politics focus on can have a personal impact on our lives and it is important for us to be concerned about them.
Why is it important to lead a political life?
It is important to get involved in politics because the issues involved in politics can affect our lives. Even if it’s just a daily check of the newspaper, politics can have such an impact that it is important to get involved.
What advice do you have for young people who want to get involved?
Taking political science classes are a great way to get into politics. You can learn about the government and how it works while still getting involved in current political events.
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
I wish people were a little more understanding. Politics can get really cut-throat, and sometimes that is because people involved in politics do not want to listen to the “other side” or even try and compromise. The U.S. is very polarized in terms of politics and sometimes I wish there was a little more compromising.
