Comments from past Go Run trainees:

  • "Go Run stripped away all my doubts about running for office and replaced them with tools, networks, and resources to drive an exceptional campaign."
  • "The Go Run training was such an intensive weekend of inspiration and motivation. Now I encourage my fellow advocates to move from marching on the steps of the capitol to taking a seat inside."
  • "It was also very inspiring to talk with so many other women who had or are thinking about running for office. It made it feel like running for office could be something 'normal.'"
  • "I was re-inspired to run for office. The idea of 'setting the agenda' rekindled my desire to help direct the discourse about policy in this country."

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Go Run?
Go Run is an annual training program started in 2005. Go Run is a weekend long training designed to demystify the political process by teaching women the basic skills involved in running a campaign and being a candidate. Studies show that men are twice as likely to self identify as political leaders and run early - before the age of 35. With the political pipeline 86% male and 81% white, we need to invite women in to gain fresh perspectives and diverse solutions. The training provides the nuts and bolts of running for political office by focusing on the core areas of Communications, Fundraising, and Campaigning and the unique barriers that women face. Go Run is part of the Vote, Run, Lead initiative of The White House Project.
